I'm Not Sure If Pandas are Really Peaceful...But they Always Seem So To Me
There are no accidents as they say, so when my daughter asked me to watch a DVD of the Disney animated flick, “Meet the Robinsons,” I thought, “Okay.” I was pleasantly surprised to find an animated flick providing children and particularly adults with positive messages best not forgotten.
Message 1: Don’t be bitter. Let it go. The film villain is literally an “ugly,” bent on destroying the life and future of film hero Lewis. Physically twisted and macabre, this villain is the embodiment of angst. When broached with a child’s contemplation of letting a recent tragedy slide he enthusiastically advises the child not to let it go, but to instead feed on the bitterness. He seems to suggest tasting it slowly like a fine wine. In his unhappy glee we see ourselves from the inside out. This is what bitterness held onto looks like within us. Read more…
