Vegan Diaries

For links to all the things I’m in to, check out my social media home page.
I became vegan identified in February of 2010. Before that I had a few years eating meat but for many years prior to that I was a vegetarian. Becoming a vegan has been the best thing I have done for my health and for my socially responsible peace of mind. Lots of people are curious about veganism. There are many different reasons as to why people choose to become vegan but what does not change is what a vegan is. A vegan is someone who for whatever their reasons are will not eat animals or the byproducts of animals. This includes diary, cheeses, eggs and honey. Vegans will not wear or use animal based or tested products such as leather and silk. In other words any product where typically an animal is farmed or utilized to create this food or product. Vegans eat and use nothing from something that has a parent.
Underneath all of this is the story of my own journey as a vegan. My experiences go up and down as I learn more about what being a vegan means in practice and what it looks like in my personal world. I’ve changed a lot but overall I’m still committed to eating healthy and I believe that a plant based diet is best for me. I blog on these experiences in this section of the blog called the Vegan Diaries. If you are a subscriber you’ll get all of my posts on this. I also blog about my experiences finding vegan grub outside of my home in the section “Vegan Dining Out.” Most of that covers my local restaurant area, but whenever I travel it’s still the same. I try to eat vegan unless the only option is not eating at all or getting sick. So many road trip posts will have vegan dining spots included in them as well.
